I am very slow with completing books during this LAST year of law school while I am in the midst of wedding planning and daydreaming about making my life in a new state and figuring out how to find and create my dream job, so I thought that it would be fun to have a progress report of my reading. This is an online reading group where all the participants set aside time to read every Sunday and blog about the experience.

For the last two weeks, I have been consumed with preparing for my exams.  The best thing I can say about the tests is that I survived and they are behind me. I will not know my grades until the middle of January.  Now, I just need to finish one more take home exam.  To celebrate, I decided to start a new novel. Murder on the Down Low by Pamela Samuels Young is set in Los Angeles.  Prominent African American men are being killed.  It is also the story of a lawyer who works with her sidekick to get revenge against a man whose deceit caused their friend's death.   I have only read a few pages, so I do not know the characters very well yet.   My guess is that the two story lines will intersect at some point.

I like the idea of solving a puzzle which is not connected to a grade. Now if only I could get the same pleasure out of cranking out my last paper.  Even if I am not pleased at the prospect of having to write a paper, I wish I could at least get some motivation which would help me to finish.
