I am very slow with completing books during this LAST year of law school while I am in the midst of wedding planning and daydreaming about making my life in a new state and figuring out how to find and create my dream job, so I thought that it would be fun to have a progress report of my reading. This is an online reading group where all the participants set aside time to read every Sunday and blog about the experience.

My reading seems to have come to an almost complete stop since I returned to Seattle almost two weeks ago.  I still have not completed a single book in the new year.  Today, I very intentionally carved out time to read another short story in the collection I began reading over winter break.  The Japanese Wife by Kunal Basu continues to be intriguing.  I like how each story blends an aspect of Indian culture with another; the characters are either visiting another country or staying there for an extended period of time.  I only have one story left, but I think that I will have to wait until next Sunday to finish.

This week, I enjoyed watching the United States have a new president sworn in; last night I also attended a very fun soup swap.  Other than that, I have been occupied with law school and wedding planning.  Just so you know, these two are not good playmates.
