Going on a date with myself

Last night I had a date with a guy whose profile had a lot of similarities to mine. I was nervous when I was meeting him, but was trying to shake it off. Even though I have gone on a number of dates, I still get jitters. Fortunately, I now have a number of good date outfits and wonderful friends who can pep me up and help me feel saucy!

Through the course of the date, I found him to be endearing and a lot like I would be if I were super nervous.  For instance....

~ He talked really fast.

~ He gulped water pretty rapidly and frequently.

~ He gave me random compliments that came at the end of stories; for instance, he was telling me about this Russian word which meant "perfect setting" and then at the end of the explanation said that this was what was taking place.

~ On the way to our cars to get dessert, he was talking with me about how I seemed taller than he expected and then he tripped and fell off the sidewalk.

~ He would make comments to himself and then giggle.

Needless to say, seeing him be so nervous was definitely a twist for me especially because he was pretty attractive. If my life were a movie, I think that people would be cheering in the audience when:

~ I switched meals with him because he liked mine better and was having a hard time finishing his and I ate his meal even though it was not very good.

~ When we got ice cream afterwards, I gave him half of mine because I was concerned that he had not gotten enough to eat. (I never share my ice cream)

~ I told him that if he were a woman, he would be good at the rules. I also took the time to tell him that I was not good at those things and thought they were stupid.

~ I came home after the date and told Beth that I was feeling a bit jittery, but really happy.

Our upbringing were pretty similar and we have similar outlooks on a lot of things. I thought there was chemistry, but I have learned the importance of being cautiously optimistic.

Hooray! This sounds promising. I think it is very cute that he was nervous. Did he contact you?

Sorry I missed yer call this morning, I was up way too late last nite. Let's try it again tomorrow.

Who are the girls on the Onion that you thought would be a good match for Ben? Send me in an e-mail. I may let him use my account since I have credits I won't be using.
