I Can Be Anything I Want To Be
One of my friends here in town is a teacher at a local elementary school. Last night, her students were doing a performance and she had invited several of her friends to attend. I don't have a lot of little kids in my life and my younger cousins are far away from me, so I had not been to a school performance in years. It was so much fun! These kids just had energy, attitude, and a whole lot of spunk. One of my favorite performances was when a group of second graders, the brown bears, declared that they could be anything they wanted to be! Some of the kids were loving hamming it up and other kids were terrified. Everyone really liked looking for their family members and waving to the audience. I would like to have the soundtrack to the performance, so I can play it back and remember that I can still be anything.

What about you mister?
I love little kids that have not been tainted and still believe with all their hearts they can do anything.
Not many people use the word "spunk" and I must admit that my favorite use of it is from the old Mary Tyler Moore show:
Lou Grant smiles and says, "Mary, you've got spunk!"
Mary (blushing) : "Thank you, Mr. Grant!"
Lou Grant: "I HATE spunk!"
That cracks me up every time!
The actress (her first name is America...can't remember her last name) was in a made-for-TV movie that was on last Sunday called "Plainsong." She played an unwed teen mom. It was a really sweet movie and she did a great job.
If you haven't seen it, you've GOT to rent "Shirley Valentine." It's similar in meaning to "Real Women Have Curves," but from a different perspective of life. (IMHO)
When I grow up I think I want to be one those whatcha-callits... Baby Punchers.
By the way, Ben, where is the new yeti... in your humble opinion, of course?
