Happy Birthday Birdie!

In an effort to prevent errors and give recongition to all the sites people are recommending in the  comments, I am going to try to put them in the next day's post.  Please continue to rock out with Ben.  Also,  Jef has a site where of his writing.  Joan has recently updated.  Please let me know if I have forgotten anything.

Today is my car, Birdie's first birthday. I cannot believe that I have had her a year.  Seems like only yesterday, I was driving her from Silver Spring to Atlanta. I think this is the first car I have had the has gone on so many road trips is such a short period of time: Durham,  Nashville, Silver Spring, Asheville, Atlanta.  Phew-- when I write it out in that fashion, it does not seem like a lot. However, there have been multiple trips to some of those destinations.  Many of you know that I have a bit of an unhealthy attachment to my cars.  I just think of it as my fortress and she has helped me many a time. I am not particulary religious, but I have said quite a few prayers in my car-- asking to be centered before I meet people, calling on courage, or just meditating.   Anyway, Happy Birthday Birdie-- I am thankful for all you bring to me!

Maybe you can give her a STP oil treatment to celebrate.

Was Birdie named after Charlie Parker?

STP really does sound like the best thing. Or a tire rotation. That sounds like the equivalent of buying her a massage. Then get yourself some cool dice to hang from her mirror. With skulls and hearts instead of dots. Sounds like Birdie would like something like that. Then a personalized license plate that says Birdie. And tint the windows and get a neon strip for her undercarriage. And maybe some hydraulics. Yeah, that sounds about right.

I wanted to give her a deluxe car wash. However, my cell phone died and I needed to get a new one which cost me unexpectedly. Instead, poor Birdie just has my gratitude. Although, on my date Saturday night I got to show her off. Having a hybrid makes for great conversation.

I can't believe you didnt' give your beloved car, who has been with you through thick and thin, who you saw fit to write a tribute to on your webpage, a nice deluxe car wash because of your cell phone. It's like ignoring one kids birthday because the newer and cuter one is slightly ill. FOR SHAME. Were these just words then, that you typed here? Just a way to make you seem more "charming" with your "love" for your car, but in reality, you dont' care one whit! For her birthday, I wish Birdie the best, by which I mean a new owner. And to you I say... GOOD DAY!

Also: do tell about the date? Did you at least polish Birdie's back seat with your hot love shenanigans? I guess you DID show her off. Like when a parent yells at their kid to practice the piano all the time, makes them feel miserable, then shows them off when company comes.
