Yesterday I went swimming at 7am and then had to come home quickly to shower and get ready for work. Because my hair takes a long time to wash and dry, I just put it up in what I called "The wet and wild bun" but what Reshma refers to as "The librarian look." I think that it cannot count as the librarian look because it is wet and things just can't be as serious when they are wet. << Insert joke here.
After work, I thought that I would go to the gym. After all in the hay days of training for the 5k, I would do brick workouts-- back to back, two hours of hard core activity. I had a whole day in between swimming and potentially cycling. Here is the evil twist: I GOT UP AT 6:15AM and swimming uses ALL my muscles. Every single one of them. I think that even my eyelashes hurt.
When it was time to go home, I thought I was going to pass out. To remedy that situation, I asked a coworker to have cheese dip and a drink with me. She agreed. I did learn how to sign "Happy Birthday" and "Girl you can dance" and "Boy, you make me want you" because that is what she remembered from sign language class. These are essentials skills and will be as beneficial to my health at 45 minutes of cardio.
After I got home from that, I immediately took a shower and washed my hair. I then got into my pajamas and prepared to lounge. Then I realized that I was supposed to head over to Sandi and Dr. B's* place to get the key and instructions so that I can pet sit for them while they are in Italy. I called Sandi to explain that I was in my pajamas and had my hair down, but I was too lazy to change. Being as great as she is, she said that I was welcome in any attire. Very kind of her indeed.
Here is the point of the post. The funny image for you to carry with you. I left my house in my pajamas which last night was a long, flower decorated long nightgown. I did not have shoes that could be easily put on, so I grabbed my gym flip flops. They are jokingly referred to as the disco shoes because along the straps they have disco lights. These means that I literally light up with each step I take.
Can you picture it? Keep trying.
