A Good Start

Dude was my traveling companion today.  I was on a quest to find a bento box of my very own.  We first went to a kitchen shop at the mall where I finally got Dude a birthday present.  He is quite the master chef and I look forward to tasty all the yummy treats that come from the iron skillet.   After not finding anything in the mall, we went to the International District to a wonderful shop called Uwajimaya.  This place always makes me wish that I had more time to be adventurous in the kitchen and could slow down for leisurely meals.

They had a wide selection of boxes, but they were so fancy.  I did not think that they were good for a beginner like me.  Plus, I was not ready to invest more than ten dollars in this lunch making experiment.  Fortunately, there was also a whole area of Lock & Lock products.  These were less expensive, dishwasher & microwave safe which made them a perfect starting point for me.  I picked up a divided rectangle container (this was the closest I could come to finding a picture of the one I purchased)and I am looking forward to having some yummy lunches in this! Dude ended up buying this for me as a birthday present.
