A Slice of Heaven

I am a few days behind in documenting my travel journey.  On Tuesday night, we stopped in Chicago.  I had never been and wanted to at least walk around the city for a bit.  We splurged and stayed downtown on the Magnificent Mile.  On the way in, I got a lovely view of the Mississippi River and the Sears tower.  We got a recommendation from the concierge for some deep dish pizza.

We decided to ask for something within walking distance since we had been in the car for almost eight hours.   The concierge gave us a recommendation for a place whose name escapes me at the moment.  We got a good walk in trying to find it.  Once we did, I knew that it was going to be yummy.  The atmosphere was funky and friendly.  Most importantly, it smelled really good.  After consulting with our server, we decided to share a salad and the deep dish vegetarian pizza.  The salad was good, but the pizza was the show stopper.  My goodness--- deep dish pizza really is amazing.  Each bite was a good mix of vegetables, sauce, cheese, and delicious crust!

The next day, we got up extra early so that we could get to our next destination early.  I did not mind because I was going to see Sonja & Tom!
