Another Rocking Defense

The entire time I have known my Partner to-be he has been working towards completing his dissertation.  It seemed to always be looming in the distance, a far away goal that was always just beyond reach. This summer, our wedding planning had been put on the shelf until the dissertation was finished.  After what seemed like forever and a day, his defense took place this morning.  Here is the e-mail I got a little while after it was finished:

I passed fully.  I need to take care of some busy-work now, but we can
talk later.

Thanks for the support.  I love you.

I cannot believe that this phase of his life is finished. It's hard to imagine life post-dissertation; I am certainly looking forward to seeing what it is like!
