Pay it Forward

Last year, I really enjoyed participating in Pay it Forward.  This year, I was delighted to find it going through the blogosphere again.   Heathen Vegan even has a button for it which I swiped.  Even though her rules are more flexible, I am still going to bend them.  The original rules are posted below; I crossed out the parts that I wanted to transform and you can follow either version.

The rules are simple:

  • You must have a blog be a person who wants to spread kindness and joy into the world.
  • You must be willing to leave a comment describing how you "pay it forward" or provide a link to your blog in which you describe your "payment."
  • If you want to participate you must be willing to do something unexpectedly kind for another person within the next 365 days.  For bloggers, it is preferred that you mail something delightful to folks who leave a comment on your site.   An entire year to mail items is very exciting!
  • If you want to participate, please leave a comment on this post.

Depending in how many people leave a comment, I will decide who will get a treat from me.  Thank you for helping me to spread some joy and decompress from exam stress.  Hopefully, people will comment.  Otherwise, this will be so embarrassing :)

I would hate for you to be embarrassed!

I love to pass along books to people I know will like them.

This reminded me of you :) It's a year-end list. I don't know if you would be interested in posting it; thought I'd share it here just in case.

* What was the best thing that happened to me this year?

* What did I do this year that I’m really proud of?

* Who did I really help?

* Who do I need to thank and acknowledge for having been there for me?

* What are the top three lessons I learned?

* What increased my happiness and joy this year?

* What’s something I got through that was really tough?

* What did I avoid that I must pay more attention to in 2009?

* What character trait did I develop most this year?

* What new people did I meet that are now in my life?

wow - Corrie's questions are GOOD. Do I have to commit to paying it forward every day or just one day some time in the next year? I bought a book for the library at the nursing home, does that count as a p-i-f?

sign me up!

I'll make some sort of craftiness and mail it to a fellow blogger. Since I'm all over the map with trying new crafts, I can't pin it down yet. Though I'll add another bethany only rule and pay it forward and pay it back. that means I'll send you something too :).

PS. I started reading written on the body - now that my mind has cleared up from being sick. so far I think it's a woman. otherwise "it" wouldn't have had such an issue w/ the mens room urinals.

Jeni: I am glad that you are okay with my version of things.
Terri: I appreciate your help in making sure I am not embarrased.
Jeanie: Thank you for agreeing to participate and for the compliment.
Corrie: The list is terrific and I will post it at some point. Right now, I just feel bogged down.
Care: You just need to pay it forward ONCE. Of course, you can do more if you like. The book for the library certainly counts. The rules are flexible and yours to bend as you like.
Bethany: I love the idea of paying it back. Thank you for bending the rules, so that I will benefit :) I look forward to hearing more of your perspective on written on the body as you continue.
