Pay It Forward
There are two things which have grown clear to me since I have begun law school: (1) I am REALLY good at procrastinating and seem to be getting better and (2) I really love competing for prizes. Lately, I have been thinking that I should try to give something back. When I saw the pay it forward idea over at one of my new favorite blogs (you should really check out this site; I am not a cat person AT ALL, but she does have some cute pictures) I thought that it was a great idea.
So here’s how it works - the first three lucky commenters on this blog will receive a gift from me in the mail. It won’t be until be after the New Year, because that’s when the payroll fairy will have visited my bank account. But think of it as something to look forward to after the first of the year. You know, that slump we all fall into after the holidays? I promise it’ll be something cool and unique to brighten your day during that slump. The only thing you have to do is post the same on your blog and offer 3 other strangers a present. If you do not have a blog, your job is to give three other strangers a gift. If you are a law student, you could leave someone chocolate when they go to pick up their printing. If you are paying a toll, you can pay for the person behind you. This time of year is hectic and stressful, so just do something to make things easier for someone else. Do whatever you want to do. All out of the goodness of your heart. And the fact that you’re a sucker for getting presents. Anyone wanna play along????
It does feel good to be giving away prizes; hopefully, someone will comment. Otherwise, it will be SO embarrassing.

I am always up for a prize, so I hope I am one of the lucky three. I don't have a blog, so I suppose I will have to get creative on finding three stangers to pay it forward to. I will let you know when this happens so you can share in the spreading of your idea!
Great talking to you last night! :)
love,
Sonja
Oh! Before I forget, I tagged you for a meme:

If you hop on over to my blog (I'm at work, otherwise I'd give you the link to the exact post), I wrote about deciding to be someone's Secret Santa. To make a long story short, there's a woman at the Post Office who will be spending Christmas alone. I was originally going to get a gift and give it to another worker to give to her, but I decided that I also wanted to invite her to spend Christmas with me and my fiance. So what I did was I stuffed a stocking with all kinds of stuff (ornaments, lotion, candy, slippers, etc) and took it to her. I invited her to my house on Christmas and then to a movie. I told her to bring the stocking with her if she decides to come, and if not then she should have a good time opening it Christmas morning.
Anyway, I just think you doing this is great! A little kindness goes a long way.
