Documentary idea: life as an Indian-American (pardon me if this is not your self-selected description) woman in a modern world whose parents have different ideas about her personal life than she has

That is a good idea.

After seeing this, I am now aware that this is NOT Erin Riley... now I feel stupid. *sigh* oh well.

That IS a good idea. Then you can call the movie "Bend It Like Beckham"! ZING! j/k it IS a good idea for a serious documentary.

i think you should make a documentary about "beastmomma" and how you and us all are spilling all these personal thoughts and feelings out there and *supposedly* no one is looking... and *supposedly* ca guy doesn't know about this site, and maybe neither does cacrush, or my parents.
a documentary about beastmomma leaves lots of room for monologue voiceovers. sexy intellectual! could lead to dates. j/k! (i sound like ben)

seriously though, i feel like you could take your beastmomma entry from wassit --- the eloquently described you an your conflict of self, parental obligation, culture --- and that's a pretty darn solid base for a documentary!

if you're worried about "but doing a documentary about me is so cheesy and lame" - whatever. the hardest topic and the most important topic to address is ourselves. that is what i am learning from the "personal essay" junk.

i think it's super cool that you're TAKING A DOCUMENTARY FILM CLASS!!!

take risks! face your fears!

Yeah, the documentary film class thing sounds so awesome. It may improve your eye for things too, which is always fun, to see the world differently. What about the whole public radio talk show person thing that you mentioned a while ago?

I don't remember the public radio persona idea. Will you remind me? I do like the blogging thing. However, I am worried that it does not seem political enough. Any suggestions for how to spice it up?

No suggestions. I think it's fine. THere's enough boring political crap out there. Eventually it all sounds the same, but most personal lives are different. KEEP IT UP! Yo' shit is good! Fo real.
