Documentary idea: life as an Indian-American (pardon me if this is not your self-selected description) woman in a modern world whose parents have different ideas about her personal life than she has

Erin Brewer
After seeing this, I am now aware that this is NOT Erin Riley... now I feel stupid. *sigh* oh well.
That IS a good idea. Then you can call the movie "Bend It Like Beckham"! ZING! j/k it IS a good idea for a serious documentary.

Ben
i think you should make a documentary about "beastmomma" and how you and us all are spilling all these personal thoughts and feelings out there and *supposedly* no one is looking... and *supposedly* ca guy doesn't know about this site, and maybe neither does cacrush, or my parents.
a documentary about beastmomma leaves lots of room for monologue voiceovers. sexy intellectual! could lead to dates. j/k! (i sound like ben)
seriously though, i feel like you could take your beastmomma entry from wassit --- the eloquently described you an your conflict of self, parental obligation, culture --- and that's a pretty darn solid base for a documentary!
if you're worried about "but doing a documentary about me is so cheesy and lame" - whatever. the hardest topic and the most important topic to address is ourselves. that is what i am learning from the "personal essay" junk.
i think it's super cool that you're TAKING A DOCUMENTARY FILM CLASS!!!
take risks! face your fears!
