I was excited and curious to read the sequel to Wicked by Gregory Maguire.  Son of a Witch increased my longing for the characters in Wicked.  It was good to find out what happened to Liir even if it felt like taking a long path to come to a brick wall.  Plus, I found myself wishing that I had just re-read Wicked again.  One thing I did enjoy about the book was the message that even if we do not have magical powers, we are able to use our talent to make things better. This message could have been told more originally and succinctly.
