The Japanese Wife

I am finally getting around to writing a review of the first book I officially finished in 2009. The Japanese Wife by Kunal Basu was good overall, but I had a hard time finishing the book.   Each story was a meditation about blending cultures while trying to have a relationship.  I enjoyed that each story had characters that were dwelling in memory and planning for the future while struggling to stay in the present.  (Maybe because I am struggling with that same dilemma).  I wrote about this book for two Sunday Salon sessions.  You can read those posts here and here.

I read this book for two challenges:

Orbis Terrarum

and

What's in a Name Two
