Whatcha Reading? Meme
I got tagged by Lisa for this meme. The instructions and my answers are below.
I’m a reader who is always looking for a good book recommendation from friends, neighbors, people on planes, in waiting rooms, at the library.. wherever I happen to be. I find myself saying, “Whatcha reading?” several times a week!
In this meme, I’d like to know 5 things:
1. Whatcha reading?
2. How much of it have you read so far?
3. What’s it about? (in a nutshell! A sentence or two is enough)
4. What does the title refer to?
5. Would you recommend it?
*********************************************************************
1. I am reading one book and listening to another.
2. Currently, I am about a quarter of the way through Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie and almost half way through listening to Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl.
3. Midnight's Children is a memoir about a person who was born at midnight on the day that India become an independent country. G & S is about a New York times food critic who is making her way through the scene in NYC.
4. Midnight's Children refers to a group of kids who were born at midnight. I am not sure yet what G & S title is a reference to. Maybe I will find out soon.
5. I would recommend both of these books.
I am not sure who to tag, but I will say Planet Books, Birdlashes, and anyone else who would like to participate by leaving comments.

1.) I'm reading two books. "The Rediscovery of Man" by Cordwainer Smith and "Lady Chatterly's Lover" by Lawrence
2.) Half; The first 2 pages.
3.) Thousands of years in the future of man, the "Instrumentality" guides the development of humans, while trying to "Rediscover Man" so that they do not lose their humanity; Lady Chatterly's Lover will be about Lady Chatterly's love life (I'm assuming)...
4.) See above.
5.) To certain segments of the SF reading community; too soon to tell.
