Nanny Diaries-- Complete
This book was the selection for the online book club I joined and I picked it up on my way to Atlanta. I thought this would be a good break from all the serious reading I was doing. Little did I know that Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus would become literary crack. I found that I was addicted and could not stop reading. It was the perfect airplane book because I did not have to concentrate very hard to follow the plot and I found myself laughing out loud and also saying, "Holy crap!" Who does not need more humor on airplane rides?
I also re-read the rules for the armchair traveler reading challenge and decided to swap this book in as one of my picks. Here is the updated list. New York was an integral part of the story as the Nanny was going back and forth between various landmarks in an effort to keep her charge sufficiently stimulated. This book is being made into a movie and I am curious how they are going to incorporate all the details from print to the big screen. From the previews, I can already tell that some things have been altered.
Recommend to a friend: Yes, if you are looking for junk food for the brain. It's delicious, satisfying, and won't add weight to your hips.
