Queen of Dreams-- Complete

I started this book this morning while I was waiting in the doctor's office.  I love Chitra Divakaruni and can tell that I am going to eat this book up.  Queen of Dreams seems to have a similar feel to Mistress of Spices.  The story is about a woman who tells dreams and her relationship with her daughter.  I think this will be a good book to end my literary year on; hopefully, I will be able to finish it before the end of the year.

While I did not finish this book in 2005, I am glad that it is the first book I finished in the new year.  It got so good that I had to stop reading because I did not want it to end.  The very first book I read by Divakaruni was Mistress of Spices and I feel like this one is a continuation of that.  There was such good blending of the mystic and the mundane.  The relationship between mothers and daughters. Trying to find your cultural identity while becoming your own person.  Of course, I especially enjoyed the fact that the best friend of the main character was a rebellious Sikh woman.   There are a few books whose characters I want to have as friends.  Rakhi and Bella are definately peeps that I would love to vent with and have in my contacts list. I am sad that I am not going to know what happens next to them.

Recommend to a friend: YES YES YES!!!!
